Chicago's pioneer Modernist, Rudolph Weisenborn (1881-1974, was the only former P&C member in this year's Antiques Fair at the Merchandise Mart -- and he probably would have enjoyed the irony of it.

Stephen Giannini ,while visiting the Palazzo Massimo in Rome, believes he has has discovered the original of one of the plaster statues in our stairwell.



It's a first century B.C. Greek depiction of Melpomene, the Muse of Tragedy. (originally holding a tragic mask in her left hand)
