Exhibition: A Perfect Balance
This is not a solo exhibit for Susan Anderson, but once again hers are the only paintings that interested me.
She's one of the club's - and Chicago's - best painters.
Accompanying this exhibit, was her list of favorite painters:
Renato Muccillo, Marc Hanson, Mitchell Albala, Tibor Nagy, TJ Cunningham, Josh Clare, Tim Horn, Mike Weis, T. Allen Lawson, John Redmond, Thorgrimur Einarsson
I am embarrassed to say that I do not recognize a single one except for Tibor Nagy (and that's only because a man with that same name began a famous modern gallery in 1950)
But I'd love to see her curate an exhibit of them in the Palette and Chisel galleries.
Both real - and dream like.
I love it.
Some day, high end painting will no longer be required to show dismay, despair, confusion, alienation, or perversity.
When that happens -- she, and the artists she likes, will receive broader recognition.
