Stephen Giannini ,while visiting the Palazzo Massimo in Rome, believes he has has discovered the original of one of the plaster statues in our stairwell.



It's a first century B.C. Greek depiction of Melpomene, the Muse of Tragedy. (originally holding a tragic mask in her left hand)
