So much power - yet so much stillness.

Like a leaf gently bending to the breeze.

And what a delicious, glowing  inner life for the subject.

Looking up the artist online - this super-retro approach is not typical.

I wish it were.

Just because we're Americans,

our portraits don't have to look like stills from a television sit-com.

and it’s always changing.
