Lorado Taft
Lorado Taft (1860-1936) was never a member of the Palette and Chisel -- but he needs to be remembered here -- since the organization was founded by his students at the Art Institute-- seeking further opportunities for studying the live model.
Much more could said about his monuments in Chicago and the Midwest -- and his fascinating book, "The History of American Sculpture" -- but all I'll offer at this time are some recently taken pictures from Graceland Cemetery:
Victor Lawson memorial (the same Lawson for whom the YMCA at Dearborn and Chicago was named)
"Eternal Silence" - monument to Dexter Graves
