Mulligan's Lincoln
The model didn't show this morning -- so I put my bike back on the train and headed south, past the University of Chicago, down to Oak Woods Cemetery to see C.J. Mulligan's Lincoln (ominously surrounded by the graves of young soldiers)
As I should have guessed, this Lincoln is the identical twin to the one in Pana, Illinois (which has the original cast)
Actually --- the back is my favorite view (it's like joining Lincoln on the grandstand)
This scene reminds me of those Fragonard murals at the Frick -- the ones depicting classical sculpture in a garden
I'm not sure this is my favorite Lincoln -- but it does have some good views/details.
